In order to develop a better understanding of the recycling of used nuclear fuel and the operation of an advanced reactor, a local group visited France in October. Local Attendees included: Dan Moore-ePIFNI, Jim Morgan-SONIC, Dan Minter-SODI, Jim Carver-Shawnee Labor Council

  • The group toured the La Hague facility, owned and operated by AREVA, which recycles used fuel, and also visited an advanced reactor.

  • The La Hague facility has approximately 3400 employee and utilizes approximately 2000 subcontractors.

  • The group held discussions with community and business leaders, as well as representatives of the local dairy farmers associations. The leaders reinforced the strong commitment to safety, security and the environment.
